Starting the Dissending for Sweets Quest
To begin the quest, speak with Garreth Weasley, who can be found hanging around the Faculty Tower or the Great Hall area after you have progressed far enough in the main story. He asks you to retrieve dried Billywig stings from the cellar of Honeydukes sweet shop in Hogsmeade. To access the cellar without getting caught, he guides you toward a secret passage hidden behind a statue of a one-eyed witch.
Locating the statue is straightforward once you follow the quest marker into the Grand Staircase region of Hogwarts. Interacting with the statue prompts your character to speak the password, opening a hidden entrance into the secret tunnel below.
Navigating the Secret Passageway
Once inside the underground passage, you will encounter a broken lift that needs repair. Use the Reparo spell to fix the lift platform so you can descend deeper into the cavern. As you proceed further, you will encounter spider webs blocking your path, which can easily be cleared using Incendio or Confringo.
Later in the tunnel, you will find a platform that must be raised using the Levioso spell to create a path forward. After navigating past a few additional minor puzzles, you will reach the trapdoor that leads directly up into the cellar of Honeydukes.
Retrieving the Dried Billywig Stings
Upon entering the Honeydukes cellar, take a moment to look around for the dried Billywig stings sitting on a wooden table near the back. Simply interact with the item to add it to your quest inventory. Be sure to explore the cellar for additional loot and galleons before heading back to the castle.
You can return to Garreth Weasley quickly by using the Floo Flames fast travel system back to Hogwarts. Delivering the ingredient finishes the objective smoothly and allows Garreth to continue his magical brewing experiments.
Quest Rewards and Experience Gains
Completing the Dissending for Sweets quest grants players a generous amount of experience points to help raise their character level. In addition to XP, Garreth rewards you with galleons for your trouble. You also unlock the Conjuration recipe for the Conjured Barrels, which can be placed inside the Room of Requirement.
